Well it's been a while since we had net access (none in Windemere or Wales) so sorry we haven't been able to keep you up to date.
Everything has gone pretty much as planned - bit more walking than expected at times, but we've managed to see everything we wanted to, including our checklist in Paris.
It's 1am now, and we head for the airport at 8am so this is about as detailed as it's going to get I'm afraid. We'll see you all on Sunday evening (about 7.30pm) and you can catch up on everything then. If you can keep us awake that is...

First day in Scotland
We have just arrived in Edinburgh and it is freezing! Well...not really...though fatty Kirby is complaining heaps! Yesterday was all about the countryside. We first made a stop in Oxford - the university town - and it was splendid. Quite cool, but splendid. Many of us tried the McDonalds and might I say it was different...and peculiar. Later on we went to Stratford-Upon-Avon where we fell upin Shakespeare's Birthplace. It was a very interesting place with a lot to see. The house was quite old actually. After that we went to Anne Hathaways cottage. Caitlyn complained that the tour guide was talking as if SHE lived in the house at the time. After this we made our journey to Sherwood Forest Youth Hostel.
The following day, at 7 am, Professor Montgomery, Kate, Gemma, Mildred and I took a stroll in Sherwood Forest to see the Major Oak Tree. It was very nice. After this we had a proper breakfast back at the youth hostel and left forour long journey to Wallsend - The end, or beginning, of Hadrian's Wall. Didn't see much but rubble. Though it was quite hilarious when Mildred thought she was standing on the very wall itself...but was later disappointed that she stood on a mere replica of the wall, and then stood on the rubble. After this we left for Edinburgh. Mildred fell asleep and upon arrival to Edinburgh we heard a loud thud and saw that she fell off the back seat!
And here we are at the hostel, off to tour some more.

Day 3 of the Uk Trip
Splendid...utterly splendid is what describes London. Such fascinating things to see.
Today we went to see the changing of the HORSE guards - quite interesting you say...yes...and peculiar. We also saw the Big Ben and Buckingham Palace, where Mildred and I were to visit our royal family. Sadly, however, our cavalry did not arrive because we were spotted with lower-class individuals. However we still enjoyed the visit immensely! Though before this we visited Westminster Abbey where we saw such a wonderful church...with graves. Eerie, actually. It was a nice day, until it started to rain when we were in Harrods...HARRODS!!! The best shopping mall in the entire universe! I bought a wand for my bro because he has still not received an owl (unlike me...who has!). I also bought a boeing 747 plane...splendid. Alice has been a pain...but it's ok. Forgvie and forget. How's the weather, you ask? It's actually like Melbourne weather...though more rainy, I must say. Anyway I must go. Laura has an appalling sense of patience.
Cheerio old chaps!

KAT'S BLOG!!!!!!!! WOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello everybody!
This is Katrina, even though it says Caughey at the bottom, I'm on his account see?
Anyway...
So far we are all having a blast in London. Yesterday after touring little markets in Camden and touring the Tower of London we had to get up at 7 o'clock to have breakfast and get reading to go out. Today was started off at the Globe Theatre. That was really cool, we were also lucky enough to be able to do a workshop with one of the Globe's actors, Adam. We then went to a Greek restaurant for lunch. Kirsten and I were so brave, that we ate tiny squids. But at the end of the meal I decided to pop into the loo and when I returned to the restaurant I found that our table was empty. How lovely it was to be stranded by my lovely friends in lovely London...
They were down the street buying ice-cream. After that lovely incident we went to King's Cross and we all know what that means, don't we? Yes, Platform 9 3/4. Patrick and I tried to get through to the Hogswart Express, but sadly we did not get through to the other side, this attempt was recorded and can be viewed when we are back in Oz. Then we went to Madame Tussauds and took A LOT of photos, that was AWESOME, but what topped off my day was the walk home... We strolled down Baker Street to stumble upon the very house of Sherlock Holmes, and of course with Kirsten and I being undercover spies we had to see the museum. now THAT was cool. Then for those of you who know what I would like to be when I leave school...????? Anyone??????? Hopeless. I am going to be an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist, we also stumbled upon the ery college for that chosen occupation. Fate with a capital F. Then we walked through Regent's Park to get home, and that was lovely. Now unfortunately I am off, to do very posh London things, actually probs just going to get dinner then cruise the town. My love to all big hugs and even bigger kisses, Kat aka Mildred, now she is on the case.

Hi everyone.
We have arrived in London with no hassles.
Very tired but we are determined to get onto local time so we spent the day at Camden market and then the Tower of London.
It's 8oclock here now and everyone has finally crashed - very happy to get back to the hostel and our beds

Kuala Lumpur
Well we've made it through the first leg ok, and we're at KL airport waiting for our connecting flight to London. The students were all keen to try the local food, luckily for them that turned out to be a Burger King.
Very tired but happy and safe.

This suggests the following outlook for the UK for Autumn 2007.
- Most likely to be warmer than the 1971-2000 average, though cooler than last autumn
- Average or below-average rainfall is more likely rather than above-average rainfall
- Less frequent periods of very windy weather for autumn as a whole
- Greater risk of fog, compared to normal, during the latter part of autumn
- High pressure systems to the west of the British Isles may be more frequent than is usually the case in autumn

UK Weather
As we come to our final week of our neverending excitement, it is time to talk weather. So far this weekend in London it is a fine, warm and sunny one. During the week, however, it will be showery. This is (in a way) good news because hopefully it will not be a full showery week on our first week in England. Next Friday in London it will be a sunny 18C.
However, Edinburgh is a different story. Though it will be showery there too, it will be very cold. There are some 10s and 13s. Though on Friday it will be a cold mainly fine 13C day.
I will continually update this post throughout the week.

Update
Ok so we finally got the invoice for the trip today, and payment should be sent off tomorrow.
YAY!
From what I can figure, we should have somewhere between $3000 and $4000 left over from our fundraising.

Official Rockfest Tally
$860 profit
Awesome night.
Brings the approximate tally to $5800 by my records.
Some of that will go on taxes and insurance, but still plenty left over.

August Rockfest Statistics
Some interesting statistics for you to ponder while I get around to double-checking Pat's accounting and posting the total raised from this HUGE night.
On Friday night we sold (or gave away):
146 cans of regular V
126 bottles of Water
100 cans of Coke
60 little Freddos
30 Pies
22 cans of V Berry
21 little packets of Fruit Tingles
19 Pizza slices
13 cans of Orange
11 cans of Lift
9 bags of Snakes
8 packets of Wizz Fizz
5 cans of Diet Coke
4 cans of Lemon
3 tropical Primas
2 apple raspberry Primas
1 can of cheapo Cola
and 1 can of cheapo Diet Cola
At some stage during the night we sold out of 10 of the 18 items we had for sale (and either bought more or stopped selling them)
The smallest number of people in the canteen at any one time was 3
The greatest number of people in the canteen at any one time was 9
3 of the people (officially) working in the canteen were doing so for the first time
The amount of money we lost by giving away or discounting stuff, we almost exactly made up in donations and bag/jacket minding.
On average, for each person who attended rockfest, approximately $3 was spent in the canteen.

Chocolates
If anyone has unsold chocolates, can they please bring them (plus any money for the ones they HAVE sold) tomorrow or Friday, as we can sell them at Rockfest and hopefully finish them off.
